I saw Rush perform last Monday at Red Rocks amphitheater - my first show there. What an incredible venue - the band didn't suck either. :) This is my interpretation of "Through the camera eye..."

Had a baby! Wow... nothing like it in the world. Incredible journey. I've never been so proud and thankful of my family. They are amazing and I love them more than anything.

Elated.

Welcome to the land of bizziness. In the editing bay: Episode 12 of Conceal + Carry = Survive for Orion Multimedia; in the design studio: Issue #10 of Cyclocross Magazine; on the streets with camera in hand shooting: Adam's Polishes at the Tesla showroom, interview with Justin Gold, founder of Justin's Nut Butter, at Chautaqua Park in Boulder and last but not least - an exercise DVD for FitLivingEmpowered's Miss Fits bootcamps. Whew - my what a busy week. Thank you Colorado!

Click to watch this flash video presentation containing footage from one of my shoots from late last year. I shot the interviews and b-roll at the Super Computing Expo, 2009, held at the convention center in Portland, Oregon. The Thomas Group of Dallas, TX put together this reel to sell next year's show in New Orleans. They did such an awesome job with the presentation and motion graphics. Stellar.

Some day I'll learn how to merge my blog sites. For now, ubiquity is good for marketing. http://keeneymedia.blogspot.com.

Now that things are settling out in the mighty Boulder, Colorado, I've decided to go with Boulder Video & Design as the working name for my creative endeavors. I've secured a couple of URLs to support it: http://bouldervideoproduction.com and http://bouldervideodesign.com both resolve to this address for now. I'm in the process of a complete site re-design, specifically for the new business. Stay tuned!

Once the ball gets rolling the momentum keeps driving business! I'm feeling blessed. Another new client, Serac Films, I discovered at the Digital Media Convergance Symposium this Spring in Boulder. Owner Michael Brown produces fantastic outdoor and adventure films and content as well as running an Adventure Film school. After chatting with him and meeting his staff, I've been brought on to help edit one of a series of short films they're doing for a drug company that donates the malaria drug Coartem to the most badly infected areas of Africa. So stoked on this new endeavor! Stay tuned here for updates on the film's progress as well as possible future freelancing opportunities with Serac Films. Thank you Michael, Stacy and Mike!

I'd like to welcome another brand new client into the fold - Wheels Manufacturing in neighboring Louisville, Colorado. These guys make precision bicycle components for all manner of makes, models, sizes, etc. Take one peek through their catalog to see the dizzying array of parts. They're a new graphic design client that I'll be whipping up display ads, mailers, posters and other miscellaneous collateral for. Many thanks to Don, Daryl, Dave and Dan. (Yes... the dudes got D's!)

Recently produced a small motion graphics piece for the Cheyenne International Film Fest. A mutual friend introduced me to Boulder Filmmaker Michael Conti - who is spearheading this new festival for Wyoming. Might have to roll up the highway and catch a program next week!

Just finished another shoot for one of my new clients here in Boulder, Adam's Polishes. Adam comes to Boulder by way of Southern Cal, where he built up his auto detailing business into a massively successful, high-end custom car care products business. Adam is an expert on materials and methods to clean, buff, wax and preserve your car's integrity. His products are top of the line and will make you want to throw that Turtle Wax in the trash. Many how-to videos at his site and more to come! Thanks Adam.

You have a small business? You need video content on your site. In today's chaotic media landscape, just having a website is not nearly enough. The proliferation of web-capable devices alone, is enough to boggle the mind. Having video content on your site not only personalizes your business and further educates potential customers - it is a great secret weapon on boosting your search engine returns. Read this informative article by Reelseo.com to learn more about this very thing.

I hiked Eldora this morning. 6-10" of fresh! No people (they're closed now). Brought Mr. Kuma along and cranked out two runs from the top. It was all I could muster hiking at 10,000 feet. A serious chore, but so rewarding. :)

One of my new clients here in Boulder, PhoCusWright, is keeping me real busy. Not only am I learning a ton about the mechanics of the tourism/travel/hospitality industry (did you know it is the world's largest industry?), I'm churning out plenty of editing, motion graphics and, I'm off to Atlanta in two weeks for a 3-day shoot. Thank you Charles and Bruce!

Finally got Dreamweaver running on the machine again. A full upgrade to CS4 as a matter of fact. Life in Boulder is good. Damn good. Quick post for now.

Dividing my time between Boulder and Sandy these days. Good scene down here, digging it. Really digging the fact that it isn't so f#$%-ing tropical like the dismal PNW. That El Nino business has been embarassing for the Olympics, disheartening for Mt. Hood and the rest of the Northwest, and likely a sad indicator of what global warming means for the future of our ski resorts. :(

Let's talk music. Just acquired the most recent Secret Chiefs 3 disc via the Web of Mimicry website - super stoked on this one. I dropped a little review about it at my blogspot site. Then I decided it was high time to revive the much-treasured "What Are You Listening To" column from the Volcano Magazine days - where ordinary and not-so-ordinary people drop ten lists of their recent listens. Here we go:

ETK - Lover of music.
Recent earhole intake

1. Secret Chiefs 3 - The Traditionalists
2. Gotan Project - La Revancha del Tango
3. Neil Young - Neil Young Greatest Hits
4. Emancipator - Soon It Will Be Cold Enough
5. Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy
6. Boards of Canada - The Campfire Headphase
7. Bob Marley - Confrontation
8. Frank Zappa - Strictly Commercial
9. Son House - Son House live at the Gaslight Cafe, '65
